Netflix’s first African reality series Young, Famous & African is back for a second season that promises to be even juicier and messier than the first season if the official trailer released by the streamer is anything to go by.
First launched in 2022, Young, Famous & African follows some of Africa’s most influential and famous celebrities living their best lives in South Africa’s Sandton, known as the richest square mile in Africa.
Season two which premieres on 19 May sees the return of the entire season one cast: Khanyi Mbau, Diamond Platnumz, Zari, Hassan, Andile Ncube, Annie Macualay-Idibia, Nadia Nakai, Naked DJ, Swanky Jerry, Kayleigh Schwark and 2baba.
Joining the cast this season are South Africa’s media personality Bonang Matheba whose entry has elicited much excitement from fans, Namibian former Big Brother Africa contestant and entrepreneur Luis Munana, Ghanaian rapper Fantana, South African model and socialite Sebabatso Mothibi and model and actress Rosette Ncwana, who’s also Andile’s ex.
While the new cast are ready to stir up new drama, fans are really looking forward to see what happened between Diamond, Zari and Andile who ended season one on a cliffhanger after the awkward encounter at Zari’s house? And what does Rosette joining the show mean for Andile’s romantic advances towards Zari?
“Things are about to get messy,” Khanyi declares in the trailer for season two, and we can only hold our breath and wait for what is to come.
